KY Gives Back to BackPack Beginnings

This last weekend Kaival Youth from North Carolina participated in an event at a nonprofit organization called Backpack Beginnings. It was an amazing experience for everyone. Backpack Beginnings provides  free  food and backpacks filled with books, food, etc to local schools and pantries. Kaival Youth helped raise money by wrapping  gifts for Barns and Noble customers.

“I participated in community service at our local Barnes & Nobles store to help the nonprofit BackPack Beginnings provide necessary resources, such as books and school items, to children in need so that they can adequately learn. During the service, I partnered with Barnes & Nobles to educate the local community about the ongoing drive and the goals of BackPack Beginnings. In addition to informing others, I also wrapped gifts for the children in need to enjoy while also delegating the gifts. Participating in this service brought me closer to my community and allowed me to fulfill my civic duty by galvanizing everyone towards a positive cause to help others. I gained valuable skills in this service and found it very meaningful as it allowed me to support a cause I firmly believed in. Overall, this service at Barnes & Nobles enabled me to engage in seva and empowered me to spread a positive influence throughout my community. ” – Kaival Patel

“Giving time to the Backpack Beginnings Program at Barnes and Noble was a great time to demonstrate my passion for seva by giving back to the community of Greensboro. Backpack Beginnings is a non-profit organization aimed at providing food, clothes and books for children in need. By helping wrap books, it was reassuring to know that I was helping towards combating this issue. Doing this seva helps me be more aware of the issues in our community, and helps me strive to do more.” -Yash Patel
